Girls, on August 1st, Girlfriends' Day is celebrated in the USA. Why don't we do the same? What a great idea! Celebrating together with one or more of your best friends - for the sake of friendship. What could you do on a day like that? For example, swapping clothes. I admit, that wouldn't be so easy for my friends. As a tall woman, I naturally wear long pants, but you can roll them up. Sweaters are a bit more difficult - but oversized is in these days, too. The other way around is more difficult. If I, as a tall woman, wanted to squeeze myself into a pair of small jeans or a size XS sweater, the material would suffer.
There's still the possibility of exchanging jewelry or scarves. There will always be something connecting me with my girlfriend.
Show your colors
You could also take a pair of jeans and decorate them for each other – with rhinestones, with colors, with colorful seams – as a sign of solidarity.
There are many great ideas, but the main thing is that you value each other and show what friendship is worth.
Basically, friendships can be compared to jeans:
A bootcut is a friendship in the broadest sense: you meet occasionally, spend pleasant evenings, but everything is broad, nothing is obligatory or close-knit.
Then there are normal relationships. A friendship comparable to a straight leg. Days and evenings spent together, but never too close, never too intimate. Just relaxed and easy.
And then there are those very special friendships, the skinny jeans: skin-tight, figure-hugging, a perfect fit. Simply the best friend for life.
Every friendship has its fit
I have to smile at my own blog post. You also question your own "wardrobe" and, with it, your circle of friends. I prefer skinny jeans, but other styles also have their place. And that's how it is in my life, too. And that's a good thing. A true and good best friend is a soul mate, and you don't find one just anywhere. That's something very special. And that deserves to be appreciated on a "Girlfriends Day."
What would our life be without at least one good and best friend? Have you ever asked yourself that? There are friends who accompany us throughout our lives, since childhood. Others we meet later. But no matter when that moment comes, what's important is that it just feels really good and that we know this is someone who understands us, accepts us with all our faults and weaknesses, and even tells us what they think.
And since we were talking about jeans:
I also expect my best friends to tell me openly and honestly, “those jeans don’t suit you.”
With that in mind, on August 1st, I'll be thinking of you and hope that you all hug your dearest and best friends tightly and are happy that they exist.
