These days, the classic German sizes of 36 to 46 are becoming increasingly rare for jeans sizes, and inch sizes are increasingly being used, as these are increasingly based on the American principle. However, with this system, all sizes consist of two numbers: the length and the width. Finding the right length is especially important for tall women with long legs. To help you find the right pair of jeans, here's how to easily convert them yourself:
What is the difference between American and German jeans sizes?
In general, one can say that the
American inch sizes correspond to German sizes, minus 10. However, this is not always the case, as it often depends on the brand and the inch sizes are easier to differentiate.
A good trick for getting the right jeans size is to measure the waist on a pair of jeans that fit you well. Don't pull the tape measure too tight, so the jeans will fit you well. In addition to inch sizes, international sizes from S to XXL are also widely available. This table shows how the sizes relate to each other:

What do I need to consider when converting?
1 inch equals 2.54 cm. So if you want to know the size of your jeans, you can divide your measured waist size by 2.54: Waist size in cm : 2.54 = inch jeans size
When doing this, use the measured width of your well-fitting jeans as a guide and do not take measurements from your own body, as trousers often have a certain amount of stretch, which will give you more accurate measurements.
You can also determine your leg length this way, although in this case it's better to measure your body rather than the pants to ensure the pants are long enough. It's best to stand barefoot on the floor and stand straight and relaxed. Place your feet slightly apart with a distance of about 10 cm between your ankles. Then measure – or ideally have someone else measure you – your inside leg length from the floor to the end of your leg at the crotch . Divide the result in cm by 2.54 to get your leg length. We offer long women's jeans in lengths 34, 36, 38 and 40.
