With big feet and long legs
Living large doesn't just mean the colloquial "I earn a lot of money and can afford it." It can also be taken literally. With a size 12 shoe, I truly live large, no matter how much money I bring home.
Large feet often pose quite a few problems. It starts with shoes, continues with socks, which are only available up to size 46, and ends with the transition to the long legs that inevitably come with being tall.
As a passionate sneaker collector, my shoe selection is nothing to complain about. There's now a good selection of long jeans for us tall men, too. Several brand manufacturers like Pioneer, Paddocks, and CROSS Jeans have recognized the market. The average man's height isn't always just 1.75 m. A tall man in pants that are far too short looks anything but graceful and sexy.
Look into my eyes, little one
But the rest of the selection process for a man as tall as me (2.03 m) isn't always the easiest. As I said, it starts with long trousers and ends with the relationship. My better half, at 1.78 m, already more than meets the standard height. The fact that we're still 25 cm short of eye level doesn't bother me much. So, it's more about inner qualities than physical qualities that matter to me.
Going through life as a couple with different perspectives because of their height is often very exciting. From the curious or even uncomprehending glances of others to the funny moments shared together.
According to a 2016 study by Seoul's Konkuk University, couples in which the man is significantly taller are said to be significantly happier. However, this finding is based solely on the results of approximately 8,000 Indonesian women surveyed—who generally tend to be shorter.
The taller a man, the better his chances of success, his trustworthiness, and his ability to perform well. Attractiveness to women is another increased trait, according to the study. A tall man exudes strength, something shorter women crave.
My partner agrees with these statements, even though she's not Indonesian. Looking back, all my partners in the past have always been shorter than me, which isn't surprising given my tall height. The selection of tall women is just as limited as the selection of long pants or large socks.
Fast speedsters
The next problem with long legs is choosing the right car. My heart races at the sound of a Porsche 911 engine. But until I've folded myself into that model, I'm better off opting for an SUV. It's much more comfortable for my height. The same problem exists with motorcycles or even simple two-wheelers. The higher, the better.
Compromises are meant to be made. So, in almost every situation, as a tall person, there's a good alternative to meet your own wishes, demands, and needs. With that in mind: Don't let yourself be intimidated, guys.
