I'm always curious about what new trends designers are offering us. Especially when it comes to jeans. Old things eventually become new again. Things that were once laughed at become totally hip, and old clothes become designer pieces.
One pair of jeans that will set the fashion trend for 2025 is the "puddle jeans." They have nothing to do with the poodle of the same name, in case you were wondering. Puddle stands for puddle. That's how the wearer of these jeans is supposed to feel – as if they were standing in a puddle. Not made of water, though, but of a sea of denim. They're high-waisted in the fit with a loose-fitting, wide leg, and almost not long enough in terms of length. At least three to four centimeters longer than the actual leg length you usually go for. This doesn't seem so easy for women with long legs. But at www.langehosen.de there's a good selection of long jeans that meet exactly these criteria and will put you right on trend.
What do you wear with it once you've found the right length?
A tight-fitting top tucked into jeans, or alternatively an oversized shirt or even an oversized sweater. Anything goes with shoes, you just can't see them.
In is what is broken
Another eye-catcher this year is discarded ripped denim or distressed jeans. Ripped areas on the knees don't need to be sewn up, nor do the entire pair of jeans need to be thrown away. With a sophisticated counterpart like a blazer or blouse, you're not only sustainable but also totally on trend. However, there's one thing you should keep in mind: To avoid the overall look looking too fake, stick to a simple wash for the jeans.
Eeny, meny, meck - the legs are now gone
Wide-leg jeans, which make our legs simply disappear, are another trendsetter this year. They come in either high-waisted or slightly lower-cut baggy jeans. These jeans have practically become a classic, a must-have in every closet. Even in my closet, you'll find this style—and I'm a true advocate of skinny jeans—defying all trends. 😉
You can pair these wide-leg jeans with anything. Whether it's sweaters, blouses, shirts, or blouses... the main thing is that you like it. If you want to give the whole look a special touch, you can create your own wide-leg jeans with pearls, rhinestones, or other decorative elements.
70s comeback
The top four on my trend list would be flared jeans or bootcut jeans. If you're not familiar with these terms, you might also know this style as simple flared jeans. Floor-length jeans with a subtle flare and a loose fit. A nod to the 70s. Anything goes with these jeans, too. However, if you want to emphasize the 70s look, you can opt for patterned blouses and cropped jackets, or even a denim shirt. Clogs or even very pointed shoes look really hip with these jeans.
Go work
Last but not least, cargo jeans, originally made of cotton, are celebrating a revival. This denim version with patch pockets on the sides of the legs is reminiscent of a casual worker style. There are certainly some models from the men's collections that we women can also slip into to join the trend. A sweater, top, and sneakers complete the look.
Which pair of jeans is your personal favorite depends entirely on your comfort level. In any case, the trend can arrive in 2025; you're prepared with the latest facts.
